Paris, Arc Lyrique Hall: ‘Laureate Concert with famous French orchestra reveals Adams’ passion for symphonic music’

During his education Adams was fortunate to have been able to work with both Etienne Siebens, Otto Tausk as well as Jorma Panula. For his graduation project, the board of directors of the Conservatory of Utrecht gave him complete freedom to fill in his own project. This sign of confidence ended in a perfect result. In collaboration with the opera class, Adams made a contemporary production of Mozart’s ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’, ‘Cosi fan Tutte ‘and ‘Don Giovanni’. It resulted in one workweek followed by three concerts. The jury, consisting of Jan Stulen, Charlotte Margiono and Etienne Siebens, spoke highly of the project. “He knows perfectly how to convey his Mozart knowledge and musical understanding to the orchestral musicians and he has an enormous sense of communication with all singers.”

The richness of music will continue to fascinate me for the rest of my life. I keep studying and searching for new wonders in a score.

During his studies Adams followed master classes with orchestras such as Holland Symfonia, the Russian State Orchestra in Moscow and the State Orchestra of Bulgarian Ruse. Every time he was selected to conduct during the concerts. After graduation Adams is coached by Etienne Siebens and Wim Witteman. With Witteman he studies the entire repertoire of classical music by making harmonic and structural analysisses. For his work, he received the Culture Price of the Province Brabant 2018.

The Eighteenth Century performance practice is the foundation of my work.

Adams has found the footing for performing classical music in performance practice 18th century (the century of Enlightenment) in the belief that knowledge and understanding of this performance practice are essential to perform the entire musical repertoire. The masterstudy “Musicology” at the University of Utrecht ables him to deepen his interest. In 2016 he graduated for his masters degree. He also had the unique opportunity to study the complete Beethoven symphonies cycle with Frans Brüggen and his Orchestra of the 18th Century.

My orchestras enable me to develop myself enormously and to play the best repertoire.

Adams is artistic leader and chief conductor of Kamerata Zuid. The new professional Chamber Orchestra of the Dutch city Tilburg. He conducted important orchestras such as Asko/Schönberg Ensemble, J.O.N.G Ensemble, Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of the Congress Buenos Aires, Chamber Orchestra and Choir of Resistencia(Chaco), National Youth Orchestra of Argentina (El Sistema), Youth Orchestra of the city Buenos Aires, Club Classique and Orquesta Sinfònica de Corrientes and Orquesta Sinfònica de Provincia Chaco.

As a guest conductor Adams also has various conducting projects at home and abroad on his agenda in 2019/20.
